Road Trip USA: Chebeague Island, Maine
Dan and I are on our way to Seattle! For good! But first, some bits and pieces of the US. A few days before our road trip began we made it out to Chebeague Island Inn’s opening day of their summer season to redeem the wedding gift that I gave Dan last summer. Just in time!
Maine is one of our favorite places; the first spring we were dating we’d pull up Google Maps and find a spot on the map where land meets sea and go exploring. We got to see so many New England towns this way. He tried to propose in Portland at Two Lights Park but the ring burnt through his pocket… I said Yes at Tufts instead (also one of our favorite places).
Dear friends came with us for our last weekend on the East Coast and after a super fast ferry ride from Yarmouth, we landed on Chebeague Island to be met by a charming family staff in a charming Maine-smelling Lodge of an Inn with a wrap around porch with chairs so comfortable and a view so nice you just feel like staying forever. We took bikes for a whole island ride, ate deliciously, and just loved our stay. We’ll be going back!

Love the pics, Julita! my favorites = the two bikes pics… silly goofs on a bike, and cool bike wheel and its shadow!
can’t wait to see you here in 50 years!!
